Our Mission To empower children with disabilities and/or special learning needs, and those who support them, through research-based education.

What STaR Represents
Access
  • Giving parents and children access to research-based special education services.
  • Giving parents and children with disabilities inclusive early childhood education.
  • Providing councils and community groups with programs of value to members of their communities.
  • Giving parents, families and children with disabilities access to qualified staff, and to ongoing assistance with the child's program.
Opportunity
  • Giving children with disabilities the opportunity to reach their potential.
  • Allowing parents and carers to be involved in their child's education and learning - including day-to-day routines and transition to school.
  • Giving opportunity to childcare workers to increase their understanding and knowledge of working with children with disabilities.
  • Allowing the community and peers to be involved.
  • Allowing parents, families and carers to be supported.
Acceptance
  • Prompting acceptance of difference within the community through increased knowledge.
  • Promoting acceptance of difference through inclusive education.
STaR is a small organisation, which provides early intervention support for children with disabilities and their families within mainstream childcare centres. The support we have received from the MonSTaR Cup has been fundamental to our growth and has enabled us to expand to 12 centres, supporting 35 children across Sydney.
